Gold & White Valentine

Today I have an elegant Valentine card created with the new Becky Seddon Heartfelt Love die set.  Isn't that a beautiful heart!

This is a 6 inch card.

Use a piece of white card stock 6 inches square and tape down the Heartfelt Love die without the outer heart die.  Run through your die cut machine.  This will die cut the intricate design into the card stock.

Use the Heartfelt Love die set and die cut the intricate heart with the larger heart die on the outside to cut out the heart.  Glue the die cut heart over the design die cut into the 6 inch square.  Line it up so all of the design matches.

Use the Heartfelt Love die set and use only the outline die to die cut one gold heart.  Attach the gold heart to the back of the intricate heart .

Attach the heart panel to the front of the card using double sided dimensional tape.

Use the Love Sentiments stamp set and gold emboss the sentiment on the lower right corner of the card.

Use the Hearts Cutouts die set and die cut gold hearts.  Add the small hearts on the lower portion of the card, as shown.

Add Gold Corner Peel Off Stickers to the upper corners.

Add glitter Dots to the center of the die cut flowers in the design.

Garden Notes Basket of Flowers - Primrose and Lilacs

Another card using some of Susan's new Garden Notes die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.   One of the questions I receive about my flower cards, is how do I mail them.  I have been mailing these cards out in clear plastic boxes, that are available from Elizabeth Craft Designs - the LINK is below.  These boxes are sturdy and in my experience always arrive in perfect shape to the recipient - The flowers are never smashed.  You just add your card in the box and behind the card add a piece of paper that has the mailing information.  My cards are always 6x6 inches so the address is printed on a piece of 6x6 inch computer paper and placed behind the card.  I like to use clear mailing tape on the ends to be sure the  box stays closed.

This is a 6 inch square card.

1.  Use the Garden Notes Primrose die set and create eight flowers.  I used white card stock and colored the flowers with markers.  Shape the flowers using Susan's Flower Tool Kit.  Add yellow Pollen to the tips of the stamens.  Die cut, shape and color the leaves.

2.  Use the Garden Notes Lilac 2 die set and create three branches of purple lilacs and the leaves.  Add yellow Prills to the center of the little flowers.

3.  Use the Garden Notes Gathering Basket die set and die cut one basket.  Color and slightly shape the basket.

4.  Use the Valentine Edges die set and die cut one heart edge.  Attach this edge along the bottom of the card.  Leave about a one inch border below the pretty die cut edge.

5.  Use the Love Struck die set and die cut the large heart, using White Soft Finish Cardstock.

6.  Stamp the sentiment from Suzanne's Where The Flowers Bloom Collection stamp set, using black VersaFine ink and clear emboss.  Use scissors and trim around the sentiment and add to the upper left corner of the card.

7.  Attach the Love Struck heart at an angle toward the top of the card.  Attach the Gathering Basket at the bottom of the card.  Glue only the edges of the basket down, creating a bow in the basket so you can insert the flowers.

8.  Add the ferns, and the flowers inside the basket.

Garden Notes Dogwoods

I love to see the Dogwood trees in the Spring.  Susan has a new Dogwood 2 die set in her new release, now available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

1.  To create this card, start with a 6 inch card base.  Cover the front with a piece of light blue card stock.

2.  Use the Garden Scene die set to die cut the frame, using white card stock.  Attach to the card.

3.  Use Susan' new Garden Notes Dogwood 2 die set and create nine dogwood flowers.  Add Prills for the bracts.  I used yellow and  lime green Prills.

4.  Use the Dogwood 2 die set and die cut three dark brown branches.  Run back through your die cutting machine to emboss the design in the branches.  Attach them to the upper left corner of the card, inside the frame.

5.  Use Joset's Rainbow Sky die set and die cut three clouds, using white card stock.  Attach them behind the Dogwood branches as shown. Use dimensional tape to attach the clouds.

6.  Use the Stitched Fishtails die set and die cut a light blue and a white Fishtail.  Stamp the sentiment, from the Little Words That Mean A Lot stamp set, in the center of the smaller Fishtail.  Attach to the lower portion of the card.

7.  Use the Dancing Butterfly die set to die cut one white butterfly.  Attach at the end of the Fishtail, as shown.

Thank you for stopping by today.

1.  Start with a 6-inch card base.

2.  Cover the front of the card with a 6 inch square piece of Soft Finish Lavender Cardstock

3.  Cut a piece of white card stock 6 inches square.  Use the Romantic Bouquet die set and die cut the top portion of this white cardstock.  Attach to the front of the card.

4.  Use Susan's Garden Notes Lilacs 2 die setr and create a light lavender lilac.  Add yellow Prills to the center of the small flowers.

5.  Use Susan's Leafy Berry Branch die set to die cut one light green branch.  Use Nuevo Crystal Lavender Drops to create the berries.

6.  Use the Dotted Scallop Hearts die set and die cut a small heart, using lavender card stock.  Use Susan's Little Words That Mean A Lot stamp set and stamp the shown sentiment using VersaMark Ink.  Emboss using white embossing power.  Attach to the lower left corner using dimensional tape.

7.  Attach the Leafy Berry Branch and Lilacs on the right lower corner, as shown.  Attach a purple bow at the base of the flower.

When creating cards with dimensional flowers, you can mail them out in the Clear Boxes from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The boxes are sturdy enough to enclose your card and add a piece of paper  behind the card showing the address.  I use a strip of clear shipping tape to close each end.  I have been mailing my cards in these boxes for years and they always arrive to the recipient in great condition.

Garden Notes Pink & White Lilacs

I love creating flowers with Susan's Tierney-Cockburn's flower dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Susan has a new release now available, and one of my favorite is the new Lilac 2 die set.  Today I have have created two new colors of lilacs - pink and white, for a very feminine card.  Here is how this card was designed.

1.  Start with a 6 inch square card.

2.  For the background use the new Flower Lace Frame and die cut three frames using White Soft Finish Cardstock.  Glue the three frame together for dimension.

3.  Cut a 6 inch square piece of pink card stock for a backing for the Flower Lace Frame.  Attach the frame using 3 mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Attach the frame to the front of the card.

4.   Use the Garden Notes Lilacs 2 die set and die cut enough petals to create two lilac branches. Die cut all the petals using 85 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use a pink marker to color the center of some petals to create the pink lilacs.  Coloring the petals with the pink marker, instead of die cut petals with pink card stock -- this helps to create a more dainty flower.  Shape the petals with Susan's Flower Tool Kit and assemble one pink and one white branch.  Die cut the lilac leaves.  Use the Leaf Tool and Pad to draw on veins, shape with the Flower Tools, and color with Pan Pastels.  Assemble the flowers and leaves on the lower left corner of the card.

5.  Use the Garden Notes Ostrich Fern die set and die cut three fern branches.  Use the top of each stem behind the lilac arrangement.

6.  Use the A Way With Words 4 Seasons die set and die cut the word Spring, using black card stock.  Attach to the upper left corner of the card.

7.  Use Suzanne Cannon's Where Flowers Bloom stamp set and stamp the sentiment using VersaFine Black ink.  Clear Emboss the sentiment and trim around it using scissors.  Attach with foam dimensional tape as shown.

Bachelor Button Masculine Valentine

Today I wanted to create a masculine Valentine card.  Elizabeth Craft Designs has a new release with dies that are perfect to create such a card.

This is a 6-inch square card.  A piece of the ModaScrap Love You To The Moon paper pack was cut to fit the front of the card.

Use the Love Struck Heart die set and die cut the large heart twice - once in a tan card stock and once using white card stock.  Attach the two hearts together to make it stronger.  Attach the heart in the center of the card, using dimensional tape.

Use the Love Struck Heart die set and die cut the Arrow once using gray card stock and once using white card stock.  Attach the two pieces together to create a strong die cut.  Die cut the small heart using a bright pink card stock to match the hearts in the design paper.  Use the three heart die to die cut the small heart and attach it to the back of the gray heart at the end of the arrow.  Glue the bright pink inside the center opening of the gray heart.

Use the new Garden Notes Cornflower Bachelor Button die set and die cut enough pieces to create three Bachelor Buttons, using a bright blue card stock.  Shape the flowers using Susan's Flower Tool Kit.  Attach to the lower right bottom of the die cut heart.

Use the Vintage Gentlemen die set and die cut the brown derby using brown card stock for the top and black cardstock for the solid derby.  Glue the brown die cut over the black die cut.  Attach the derby with dimensional tape to the upper left side of the die cut heart.

Use the Vintage Gentlemen die set and die cut the two pieces of the Bow, using bright blue card stock.  Attach the die cut bow over the stems of the Bachelor Buttons.

Beautiful Lilacs

I am so happy today.  I can start posting cards I have designed using the new Susan's Garden Note die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  In Susan's new release there are 5 new flower die sets (Lilac, Pansy, Dogwood, Primrose, Cornflower/Bachelor Button), Gathering Basket, Leafy Berry Branch, and Berry Spray.  Today I am posting a card designed using the new Lilac 2 die set.

This is a 6-inch square card.  A piece of watercolor paper was used to create the background.  The color added was done using Distress Oxide Inks.

The Lilac was created after watching Susan's Garden Club FaceBook  Video at this LINK.  She gives detailed instruction on how to create this beautiful Lilac.  The petals were colored with a marker.  A yellow Prill was added to the center of the little flowers. The leaves were colored with PanPastels.  The flowers and petals were shaped using Susan's Flower Tool Kit.

I used the Els van de Burgt Studio Stitched and Dotted Scallop Ovals to create
the base for the flower.

Susan's Little Words That Mean A Lot stamp set was used for the sentiment.  It was stamped with VersaFine Black Ink and clear embossed.  The Oval was attach to the front of the card using dimensional tape.

To create the banner across the middle of the card, I used the Dotted Stitched Rectangle die set.  The rectangle was die cut then placed back in the die so that only four of the scallops were inside the die, then it was run back through the die cutting machine.    The piece was cut off and ends tucked under the oval at the center of the oval edges.

The Dancing Butterfly die set was used to die cut the butterfly.  It was attached at the body to the upper right corner.

Black rhinestones were added as a finishing embellishment.

Thank you for stopping by today.

You Fill My Heart

Valentine's Day is not far away so I have been working on some Valentines using products from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This is a 6-inch card.  Cut a 5 3/4  inch piece of design paper from the Simply Love paper pack.  Score around the edges on a Score Board for a finished look, then attach to the front of the card.

Die cut the large red and small red hearts using the Stitched Hearts die set.

Die cut the white Scalloped Heart and attach over the large red heart, using dimensional tape.  Attach to the front of the card.

Die cut the 'you' from the Love  Sentiments die set, using red card stock.

Use the Love Sentiments stamp set and stamp the sentiment that reads "You Fill My Heart", using black ink onto white card stock.  Cut out the 'Fill My' from the stamped sentiment.  Color in the words with a red marker.  Attach to a small piece of red card stock and cut a small border around the sentiment.

Use the A Way With Words Calligraphic Elements 3 die set and die cut the heart with the ribbon attached.

Use the Hearts Cutouts die set and die cut using red card stock.  Use one of the small hearts and glue to the middle of the white heart with the ribbon.

ModaScrap Happy Frame

Elizabeth Craft Designs now has a new 2018 Design Team and exciting new products that will be released very soon.  You can go to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog at this LINK to see all the projects designed by the team using the new ModaScrap products.

The new ModaScrap dies I used for my project are the Happy Frame XL, Flowers Lace Frame, and True Love die sets.

Here is how I created my project:

1.  Use White Soft Finish Cardstock and the Happy Frame XL die to die cut four pieces to create the frame.

Happy Frame XL

The die cut has score lines.  Fold along the scored lines and press with a bone folder for a crisp folded edge.  Assemble all four pieces by adding a strip of 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive to one long side, fold and create the first side of the four sided frame.  Lay the pieces out on your work space to understand how to assemble.  The angled edge fits over the flat end.  Use Clear Double Sided Adhesive, or Kids Glue, to connect each of the corners to create the frame.

2.  The finished frame is 8 inches square.  Cut a piece of pink card stock and two pieces of 100lb white card stock to use as backing for the frame. Glue the three pieces together with the pink card stock on top.  The three layers will give strength to the frame.  Attach the three layered pieces, to the back of the frame, using  6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Flowers Lace Frame

3.  Use the ModaScrap Flowers Lace Frame and die cut one white frame.  You can use Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back of the card stock before die cutting for easy attachment inside the frame, or use glue to attach it.  Center this frame inside the dimensional frame.

True Love

4.  Use the ModaScrape True Love die set and die cut the heart with the 'love' sentiment.  Again, for easy attachment, use card stock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back of the card stock before die cutting, or you can glue the heart to the center of the Flowers Lace Frame.

5.  Use the Romantic Corner die set and die cut four small corners.  Attach them to the corners of the Happy Frame.

6.  The butterflies were cut out, using scissors, from of one of the sheets of design paper in the Butterfly Dream design paper pack.

Be sure to go over to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog to view more projects/cards created with the new ModaScrap products.

Love

It is time to wish you a Happy New Year!  Our next holiday will be Valentine's Day.  Nothing represents this special day better than roses and hearts (or is it Chocolate for some of you!).  Today I have designed a card using Susan's Garden Rose 1 die set and the Elizabeth Craft Designs Scalloped Hearts die sets. The beautiful sentiment is one of the A Way With Words die cuts.

This is a 6 inch square card.

1.  Emboss a piece of white cardstock using the  Hearts & Strings Embossing Folder.  You will have to place the white card stock inside the embossing folder twice in order to emboss the entire piece.

2.  Use the Scallop Heart die set and die cut all the hearts in the set except the largest heart.  Attach the hearts together using dimensional tape.

3.  Use the Susan's Garden  Rose 1 die set to create one rose.  Die cut the petals using white card stock.  Use the bright pink PanPastel to shade the lower portion of each petals.  Shape the petals using Susan's Flower Tool Kit and assemble the rose.

4.  Use the Susan's Garden Rose 1 die set and die cut 7 rose leaves.  Use Susan's Leaf Tool to draw veins on the leaves.  Color the leaves using light green PanPastel.  Shape the leaves using the Flower Tool Kit.

5.  Use the Garden Notes Queen Anne's Lace die set to create Baby's Breath.

6.  Use the small petal die plate and die cut eight times, using white card stock.  Remove the card stock from the die cutting machine and leave the die attach.  Place the card stock onto the black molding pad and punch down through the holes in the die with a small stylus.  This will push the small flower out and shape it at the same time.

7.  Die cut the stems using the Queen Anne's Lace die set.  I have shown three stems here, but only needed two for the one rose.

8.  Use Kids Choice Glue to spread glue down one long stem.  Add a small dot of glue to work sheet or paper plate.  Use the Elizabeth Craft Designs Tweezers to pick up one small flower, dip bottom in glue and attach to the stem you have added the glue.  Add small flowers down the entire stem.  You don't have to be precise about adding the flowers at this point.  You are starting the base to add additional flowers to create a fuller stem of baby's breath.  Glue small flowers to each stem.  Allow to dry.  Complete this process on one more die cut branch.

9.  Once the glue has dried on the first step of adding the small flowers, start adding additional flowers to create a cluster of flowers on each stem.  This time pick up small flower with the tweezers and dip back in glue and lay on top of first layer.  You can add flowers to create a wider stem as shown above.  Allow the glue to dry completely before continuing with these die cut pieces.

10.  Once the baby's breath pieces are dry, cut each piece in half.  You will have four clusters that can will be added under the rose.

11.  Use the A Way With Words Baby Love die set and die cut two 'love'.  Glue the two die cuts together.  Glue the sentiment to a piece of white card stock.  Use scissors and cut around the sentiment, leaving a small border.  Attach the sentiment to the lower right corner of the card front, using dimensional tape.

12.  Attach the pink hearts to the upper right side of the card front, as shown.  Use dimensional tape under the largest heart.

13.  Attach the Rose on the lower left side, using a dimensional glue dot.  Glue the rose leaves and the baby's breath under the rose

14.  Add a string of pearls across the bottom edge of the card.  Add small pearls in a heart shape in the center of the smallest pink heart.  Add Clear Glitter Dots on the largest and second largest pink heart, as shown.  Add one larger pearl in each upper corner of card.
