Memories

We all have Memories and what better way to save them in a special box. I have many fun memories of visiting my son and his family in San Diego when we would go sailing over to Coronado Island and also spending time on the beaches.  Having a special box to save small sea shells and other small collectibles, along with pictures, is something you can easily open to relive these memories.

It was easy to create a beautiful box depicting what my memories are by using Joset's new release Boat die set and the new A Way With Words Memories die.

This is a picture of the card I created using these dies.

For the background, I used a piece of the Els van de Burgt Studio, Through the Lens Stone Cardstock.  A blue card stock was cut to create a frame over the design paper. The edges were beveled using a ScorePal.  Gold Line Stickers were added to this frame.

The Boat was die cut using White Soft Finish Cardstock, colored, and assembled.  A Frame for the boat was created using the Fitted Circle dies and the new Dotted Scallop Circle dies.  A backing frame was die cut with the Dotted Scallop Circle.  A piece of black and white twine was used around the scallop circle and black star stickers, from the Christmas Wishes Sticker Sheet, were added for decoration.  The edges were sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Using the Boat die set, two waves were die cut using blue card stock.  they were glued together, alternating points.  A white marker was used to create white wave tips then glitter added over the white marks.  This piece was glued to the bottom of the blue circle leaving the top edge free of glue so you can tuck in the boat.

This frame was attached to the blue Doted Scallop Circle die cut.  Add glue to the boat and tuck it in under the waves and so it fits well within the frame.

Die cut the A Way With Words - Memories sentiment using white card stock.  Die cut the wheel , from the Boat die set using Gold Shimmer Sheetz.

For the fish and sea shells, I used the Lighthouse Black Stickers.  The stickers were placed over a piece of card stock that was covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Different colors of Silk Microfine Glitter was used to color these pieces.

The Frame was attached over the Through the Lens Design Paper and attached to the center of the square cigar box.  All the pieces were attached as shown in the photo.

To further decorate the box I used one of Els van de Burgt Studio Bead Strings 2 dies to decorate the sides.  They were die cut using shiny gold card stock.  The small circles from the center of the Bead Strings 2 die were saved and used to go around the framed picture.  Gold Line Stickers were used below the frame for extra elegance.

I hope I have given you inspiration to create your own Memories box.
