May Design Team Die Cut Challenge

It is time for the Elizabeth Craft Designs, design team die cut challenge.  Our challenge this month is Being Negative -- we are to use the negative space left from any die(s), to create our card.

Here is the LINK to all the  Being Negative cards created for the Die Cut Design Team Challenge.

Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge – May

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us "What are some project ideas you would use scrap pieces for when crafting?

Three lucky winners will be selected in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, May 5 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

For my card, I chose to use the negative space left from the Stitched Fishtail Banners die set.  The banners will be used in another project.

Use a piece of yellow card stock cut 6 inches square.  Center the larger  Stitched Fishtail Banner die in the center of this card stock, and die cut.  Tape a size smaller Fishtail Banner die centered between the center die cut and the left side of the card edge.  Die cut.  Repeat, using the same die on the right side of the card.  You now have three Fishtail Banner die cut openings for the front of the card.   Use Black Line Peel Off Stickers to outline the openings, for a finished appearance.

On the back side of this die cut front, add a piece of clear acetate to cover the die cut openings.  Attach with clear double sided adhesive.

Use the ModaScrape Gatefold Elegant Rose die to die cut one white piece for the top of the card.  Attach with Clear Double Sided Adhesive across the top of the card.  Add the Black Line Peel Off Sticker across the top edge.

Use the Els van de Burgt Studio Bunch of Flowers 4 die set to die cut two yellow flowers.  Shape with Susan's Flower Tool Kit and add black Prills to the center of each flower.  Attach to the outside, upper edges of the white Gatefold die cut.  Add a Black Line Sticker across the bottom of the card front.

Use the Joset Designs Bee die set to die cut one Bee.  I used fun foam to die cut the bee, but you can use card stock.  Attach to the center of the die cut Gatefold, as shown.
.

When the card is open, you will be able to see through the die cut Fishtail Banners.  The sentiment will be stamped on the inside.

On the inside of the card, add a piece of design paper of your choice.  You will want something that coordinates with the front of the card since it will show through the acetate windows.

Use the Bee Sentiments Clear Stamp Set and stamp the sentiment as shown above.  It fits well inside the center Fishtail die cut opening.  I used Black VersaFine Ink and clear embossed the sentiment.  Since this is a window card, you can write your message on the backside of the card.
